Khala Moya is a 40ha eco-estate, nestled between Seavale and Kaysers Beach, 2 small, quaint coastal villages 30km south of East London. The property runs into the coastal bush and onto the seashore, which provides a unique opportunity for bird watching, featuring 5 different habitats. An independant bird count in October 2021 totalled 96 different species, excluding seasonal predators and night birds. This location boasts a beautiful beach, excellent fishing, safe birding as well as historical sites and exciting adventure activities all within a short drive of Khala Moya. It is a sought-after holiday destination for all. Khala Moya has private access (walk or drive) to a quiet, secluded beach with safe bathing, excellent fishing and pristine birding. Christmas Rock is a registered ski boat launch site only a few kilometres away.
Khala Moya is well-equipped to meet guests' self-catering needs: a family or 2 families wanting a break together, a group of birders, anglers or friends wanting to spend quality time together. The accommodation consists of 3 flats; Buck's Bend; Kingfisher ( both sleep 4) plus a 2 bed flat, Driftwood. There is additional bedroom space Periwinkle (extra 5 beds) if needed. Accommodation is charged per person per night.

Our Rooms
Kingfisher
Kingfisher is the newest unit. Renovated throughout, this open-plan, airy flat is ideal for a family. The kitchen is fully equipped with a 4-plate gas stove and oven, a fridge-freezer, and the usual appliances. It has an island (6-seater) for dining and workspace, loads of cupboards and gorgeous views of the ocean, sea bush and nature reserve from large windows. The second bedroom (2 single beds) leads off the main bedroom (king or 2 singles on request). The bathroom is spacious (shower and washing machine). A covered deck overlooks the ocean, with an outside braai area both front and back of the flat; outside seating is provided. WiFi and smart TV are provided; guests are to use their own streaming accounts.
Driftwood is close by and can be added to Kingfisher to accommodate 6 guests.
Buck's Bend
Buck's Bend is a modern unit with open plan kitchen/dining/living space. The kitchen is fully equipped with a 4 gas burner/electric oven stove, side by side fridge/freezer, microwave, kettle, toaster, plenty of cupboard space and an island for meal prep/dining and flat screen SMART TV and WIFI. Guests to please use their own streaming accounts. A covered veranda with patio furniture has beautiful views of the ocean. There are 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. The larger bathroom includes a washing machine. The main bedroom is en-suite (spacious shower) with a king bed and has views of the ocean. A portable braai and weber are provided. The large second bedroom has two single beds with a large window allowing a lot of natural light. Buck's Bend can accommodate 2 couples or 4 singles. Periwinkle is close and can be incorporated to accommodate an additional 4 guests.
Driftwood
Driftwood is an open plan, cosy unit with a private entrance and a small deck with a table and chairs. The bedroom area has a king bed (can be made into two single beds) with en-suite bathroom (shower, basin and toilet). The kitchen has a small dinning area and is equipped with a gas stove/oven, microwave, kettle, toaster, fridge/freezer, cutlery, crockery, etc. Braai facilities and a weber are available. WiFi and TV with Mibox is available - guests to use their own streaming accounts. Accommodation is charged per person per night, and not per unit. Driftwood can be combined with Kingfisher for additional guests.
Optional In-House Catering
Our hosts, Thea & Antonie, offer an in-house catering service for those days that you do not feel like cooking up a storm in the kitchen or would like sundowner starters on the deck. You will find a menu of available options and prices in our units. Special requests can also be catered for. Just ask our awesome management team.

Terms & Conditions
Breakage deposit
R1000 breakage deposit must be paid, in cash, on arrival. Once the unit has been inspected prior to departure, damages (if any) will be deducted and the balance
(or full deposit if no damages/breakages) will be refunded
Cleaning Fee
R500 cleaning fee is applicable. This will be added to the accommodation costs. The units are not serviced. If this is required,
it must be arranged at booking and the daily cost will be added to the accommodation fee (R250/day)
Deposit
A deposit of 50% of the total accommodation cost is applicable. This must be paid within 5 working days of making the booking.
A booking will only be confirmed once the deposit has been cleared in the owner’s bank account.
Cancellation Policy
Cancellation 30 days or more prior arrival = full refund of deposit and/all monies paid over and above less R100 for admin.
Cancellation 15 – 30 days prior to arrival = 50% refund of deposit and full refund of all monies paid over and above the deposit.
Cancellation 14 days and less prior to arrival = no refund of deposit and full refund of all monies paid over and above the deposit.
Solar
The accommodation is off-grid, run by solar. There is generally enough battery power to operate normally.
There may, however, be occasions where cloudy weather persists for a few days. In this case there is a generator as a backup.
Guests will be asked to please conserve energy usage during these times and not use high-energy consumption appliances.
